Los Angeles Minimum Wage Increase on July 1, 2023

The minimum wage rate for the City of Los Angeles will increase by $0.74 to $16.78 per hour effective July 1, 2023. This increase is applicable to Employees covered by the City Minimum Wage Ordinance, specifically, those who perform at least two hours of work within the geographic boundaries of the City.

Covered Employers are required to post a notice, which includes the current minimum wage rate, in a conspicuous place at any workplace or job site where an Employee works pursuant to LAMC Section 188.03.

The minimum wage rate for the County of Los Angeles will increase by $0.94 to $16.90 per hour effective July 1, 2023. The increase is applicable to Employees who perform at least two hours of work in a one-week period within the unincorporated areas of Los Angeles County.

Employers under the County Minimum Wage Ordinance should also maintain accurate and complete payroll records for each employee for a period of four years.
